Artwork Description:
This compositional sketch is the largest version of the Presence cycle paintings. To produce it, the artist combined two previous canvases together as one. This painting beautifully merges art and life, when beautiful figurative scenes of old masters on the walls are continued by the glorious costumes and poses of the crowd - the audience of this museum. The colors used here are burnt umber for the backgrounds and multicolored accents on the clothing of the crowd.
