Artwork Description:
Madonna of Neman is a painting based on a photograph of an artist's lover taken during their travel with friends to River Neman in Belarus. The artist beautifully captured a young woman in the evening shadowy light. The position of her head and shading is reminiscent of the work of the great Leonardo da Vinci, and this is why the artist titled this nocturnal scene a Madonna of Neman, to remind of the Renaissance Master.
