Artwork Description:
Nicholaas Chiao created this portrait of an Argentinian woman based on the multiple photographs of a young couple obtained by the artist in her Upper West Side apartment in New York. In 2013, the artist staged the shooting in the manner of a film director or in the style of Eric Fischl, and a 2-hour photo session yielded nearly 100 photographs, most of which were unfortunately later lost. This painting is based on the photo from that session, with a plant collaged on the right.
