Artwork Description:
The still life with the symbol of death - a human skull in the shades of green and black. The cranium is rendered in a blurry manner inspired by the photo-based art of Gerhard Richter, whose work at the time was new for Nicholaas Chiao. The position of the cranium, composition, and lighting make the artwork anyway unique, despite blurred technique and stylistic familiarity.
